Father's day started off wonderful. C and I got up early and drove out to the forks on long island. We had a small breakfast and walked a lot. The trouble happened when we got back to my parents house and started prepping. I started with tasting this and that. We kept it really simple for the bbq salad and lots of meat so it wasnt horrible but then when the BBQ started I ate way too much. Oh well, I have now until July 4th to be a consistent healthy eater. I think I have to just realize that I am not superman and when it comes to holidays and special events I will over eat, I just have to make sure it is not out of control. I greeted my morning with a spin class so that isn't a bad start.

Just got back from a great wedding. I was good with my calories up until dessert. It was a buffett style dessert and I had a small plate but still went over the edge. Still overall not as bad as I feared. It helped that my boyfriend and I had a small breakfast and nothing until the wedding. Oh goodness if we ate regularly and then went to the wedding I would have been DEAD meat.

I am feeling great. I lost 2 pounds this week. All that walking in six flags made up for my day of binge eating...maybe?...i dont know. I tried out my eating plan yesterday and it was good. I didnt feel hungry and ended up eating less than I planned, which was a first. I think starting with a big breakfast and going down to just protein shakes for dinner really helps. My avocado, chicken breast and greens salad was yummy and I was stuffed. I really hate drinking protein shakes though. They are not tasty and the texture is weird but its the only way I get my protein without taking in carbs and fats.
I have my end of the year staff party today plus a wedding and father's day bbq this weekend. I really need to plan accordingly. My big thing is avoiding the alcohol. I read somewhere that for men alcohol is responsible for that lower belly fat, which I am trying to lose, so I stopped drinking cold turkey. I messed up last weekend at a birthday party but for the most part havent had a sip of alcohol for 3 weeks.

I am really getting into fat secret. It is regents week which means for a new york state teacher I finally have some down time, when I am not proctoring or grading tests. I have spent most of my free time looking at other people's stories. Some are amazing and inspiring. Started my experimental food plan and so far so great. I mean it is only the first day but I feel stuffed and its mid-day. I am nervous that I am getting most of my protein from my protein shake but it seems other people stand by protein shakes. We will see how everything works out after a month. I think I might sneak in an extra spin class today. My favorite spin instructor has a session tonight and I havent taken his class in ages but now I have the time.
