Today I had to see the doctor for the first time since I started the diet, then the nutritionist right after...

Dr. Gaisian* was very pleased with my progress...and he was happy that I wasn't having any health issues from the rapid loss...He said the one thing I have to watch is whether or not I have light-headedness or dizziness 'cause I'm on blood pressure meds, and as I lose weight, he'll have to adjust down the script, and hopefully eventually get rid of it altogether :) I also asked how much I CAN exercise...like is 40 minutes max no matter what, or what???...and he said 40 minutes is getting towards the high end on 800 calories a day, but if I wanted to do another 10 minutes, or do some time on less intense exercises like Wii Fit yoga or something, and I didn't feel ravenous afterward, then I could do that...but if I feel really hungry, cut back...

The nutritionist, Christine, was also pleased...We discussed my exercise and eating...Again, no Jager, of course *LOL*...but she was also pleased with my progress...I also lost 4 cm off my waist in the past week...I don't know what I lost off my waist the first week...I also told her about my fall and my resulting hip/back pain...and I told her about the hot tub...and she told me that I should take it easy...and that with the progress I was making, taking a couple days of to heal wouldn't hurt me...

I talked to Heidi for a while...then relaxed and watched TV for a while...but by 9pm I felt really lazy...I decided to try out the treadmill and see how my hip/back was...After 10 minutes, I was fine...so I went for 20...After 20, I was still fine, so I just did the full 40 minutes on the treadmill again :)

* Note: Gaisian isn't his last name, it's his description...He's gay...and Asian...and he reminds me of the far less cynical version of my friend Phil, who is also gaisian...He led my orientation and he seemed very nice...but when I went to my first appointment, I didn't have him as my dr...I had the female doctor whose personality I didn't get along with AT ALL...She just seemed very judgemental and she seemed like she grew up very sheltered...like when I said that I sometimes smoked pot, which I figured was important to let them know with the scope of this study--I mean, they're doctors and I'm supposed to tell them everything, right???--she gave me a completely disgusted look and, in a very rude tone, said "well that MUST stop, you cannot smoke pot anymore...ever..."...and this was the kicker..."We can get you into a program to help you stop...There are plenty of out-patient groups you can go to...and there are ways we can help you with symptoms of withdrawal...".....Ummmmmm...WTF?!?!?!...It's pot, not heroin, lady...I just won't smoke pot, how about that???...When it was time to make my apt with the doctor in December, my nutritionist confused me by asking "which doctor did you see when you came here the first time?"...The first time I went there was for orientation, when I saw Dr. Gaisian, so that's what I said...but I later realized she meant when I went for my initial apt, not orientation...but I don't care...I'm gonna stick with Dr. Gaisian for the rest of my apts :)
