Feeling a bit dried out this morning and a bit out of sorts all together. Is it possible to sleep too well? I think I did. Also, had crazy dreams all night long. Maybe that's why I'm feeling out of sorts because in my dreams I was being very active and energetic. Ahhh, if only activity in dreams burned fat in real waking life. How great would that be?
I'm dried out because I didn't get in much water yesterday. I purposely didn't drink much because of being in the car for a couple of hours and then walking around at the seafood fest. I didn't want to have to use the facilities there because, well, yuck. I'd rather be dehydrated.
As for the seafood fest--well, not that great. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be. For whatever reason I assumed it would be on the water. Any water. The only water there was all the puddles and mud left from rain showers. It was held at a fairgrounds many miles away from the ocean. There was also a flea market. It was supposed to be a marine flea market and boat sale. It was really just a dirty old flea market with an emphasis on booths selling fishing gear. Otherwise the same old stuff you'd find at any other flea market. And no, I don't need 3 slightly irregular t-shirts for $5.
The seafood festival also was a real downer. Basically a few people selling breaded deep fried seafood sandwiches and then there were the booths selling basically what you would find at a carnival or fair. Funnel cakes, hotdogs, pretzels, beer, giant turkey legs, etc. Nothing at all seemed appealing so we ended up getting two chicken skewers and two shrimp skewers and a couple of bottles of water. This cost about $30 and admission was $7 each so we ended up driving an hour to spend about $50 to walk around in the cold wind and in the mud. Ah well, live and learn.
Things I'm grateful for today:
Reading a buddies journal and not taking for granted today where I live.
Meeting a friend later this afternoon for a nice stroll and then meeting my husband after for dinner in a marvelous cajun restaurant.
Things I'm not grateful for today:
Dehydrating myself yesterday.
Having to have the strength to pass on the rice and beans and hush puppies at my favorite cajun restaurant tonight.

The weather has a vendetta against me, I just know it. I haven't had any plans for ages and today my hubster and I are supposed to be going up to Palm Beach to a boat and seafood festival and of course it's drizzly and cool. Mother Nature, seriously, what I have done to you? Maybe you just got up on the wrong side of the bed and will cheer up by afternoon. Please??? You were so beautiful all week long. It's Saturday, you should be happy. Think of all the people here on vacation from gray and snowy and cold places. They need you not just me. Sorry about the guilt trip, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do when she needs to get crabs.

I've decided to up the fat and lower the carbs. We'll see how that works. I was reading some blogs and one of the common things I read was that uping the fat sometimes helps. I hope so. Also, managed to drag my lazy bones out to the grocery store and get eggs and bacon and chicharrones and dinner stuff. I even walked through the bakery as well as down the cracker-cookie aisles without so much as a sideways glance at all those carb and sugar laden goodies.
Things I'm grateful for today:
The celebrations in the streets of Cairo. I'm overwhelmed with joy for the citizens of Egypt. We shall see what happens.
Things I'm not grateful for today:
My achy right knee.

PANIC IN THE STREETS OF SOUTH FLORIDA---I AM OUT OF EGGS! In reality I am out of everything. After my sodium fest night before last I really felt terrible yesterday and lazy and didn't get out to the grocery store. Now I am paying the price. Actually I paid the price again yesterday with my very weird menu for the day. I guess I'll have some left over chicken wings and maybe whip up a quick slaw to go with them since that's about all that's in my kitchen.

Changed my profile pic to remind myself that my husband used to be able to give me piggy back rides. I've just decided that's my 1st goal--to hop on his back and not make his knees buckle. I think I was about 165 to 170 in that picture which was just a year and a half ago. Marriage seems to be making me fat!
