It's spring break, and I've been eating like I'm on vacation. I have been mostly good on most days, but there were some notable slip-ups.
On Tuesday we tried out our grill. It was actually WARM outside, so we thought it would be a good time to make hamburgers. HUGE hamburgers. 1/2 lb hamburgers! They were delicious, greasy, and cheesy.
Then, last night Jeff and I had a nostalgia party and played Donkey Kong Country, ate Ruffles Sour Cream & Cheddar chips (the baked kind at least), and drank whiskey and cokes. We sometimes did this at our old apartment, so it was nice to reminisce. But, we drank way too much and finished the entire bag of potato chips (in addition, we stayed up incredibly late and I slept until 1PM today, which I haven't done since I was in college!).
So, all in all, those mishaps and others led to some weight gain, but nothing too scary. I'll get it down next week :)

Gaining 0.3 kg a Week
05 March 2010
I am so lucky that I didn't gain weight this week. Although I exercised more than usual, I also ate out a lot.
Friday--The Brass with friends in Mt Pleasant (but I got salmon)
Saturday--Stan's in Mt Pleasant (I got the rueben)
Monday--Fiesta Charra with research participants (taco with rice & beans)
Tuesday--Panera with research participants (salad & sandwich)
Wednesday--Panda Express with research participant (chow mein & tangy shrimp)
Thursday--I had wine with dinner
I tried to behave myself when going out, but it's almost impossible to do. Anyhow, so I didn't lose weight, no big surprise, but yay I didn't gain weight either :) I've, in general, been less stressed, so that helps, I think.

Yay! I finally lost some weight. I'm down a pound from last week. I think my eating habits were around the same, but I have been eating more vegetables and trying to avoid carbs (but I'm usually not very successful). I had ice cream this week, TWICE, though, so I figured that there was no way I would lose weight.
Now, if only I can make this a trend. It would be great to lose 5-10 more pounds before the wedding.

Losing 0.5 kg a Week

So, my diet was followed between "reasonably well" and "poorly." The worst thing I did was go out the night before weigh-in and have a hamburger, onion rings, and jalapheno poppers. Real smart.
In my defense, it was Jeff's idea and we met some of his friends. It would have been mean to say no, and there was NOTHING remotely healthy on the menu. Now, of course, that doesn't mean that I needed to get the burger, rings, and poppers. Oh well.
I have not been counting my points, just guestimating. I need to get back to keeping track. It's obviously in my best interest.

Gaining 0.1 kg a Week

Well, I thought I was doing all right this week. I've been sick since Sunday and not eating much, so who knows why I wouldn't lose more weight. But, since I've been sick I have been even less active than usual. My "exercise" consists primarily of walking back and forth to the car--which on MSU's campus means between 20 and 30 minutes a day, which is not awful but not great.
I'll give myself a pass since I was sick, but I guess I have to start changing more about my diet and exercise to get these last 17 pounds off than I did to get the first 17 off.
