Here is my fairy tale:
Once upon a time, there was a 50 year old woman who decided to go on a diet. Every morning, she would weigh herself and much to her delight, she found she was losing a pound a day. She never had any hunger pangs and none of her friends or family ever tried to sabotage her with carb laden cakes and desserts or homemade bread.
In fact, as the weight came off, she also realized that every two weeks, she became a year younger. No longer were her joints sore. She had so much energy to do so many things that others in the world were amazed just watching her.
After a mere two months of dieting, she not only reached her goal weight but she was also 40 years old again.
*************And then her alarm clock went off and it was back to reality.

My FIL came through his valve replacement with flying colors. Since they didn't have to crack open his chest, he actually gets to come home today. I am amazed. He told my husband last night that he was enjoying just laying in his hospital bed and not feeling like he was going to die. No pain and no shortness of breath.
He isn't a complainer so I hadn't realized he felt that horrible.
I continue to struggle with water. I don't have many cravings and I've been staying on track. Measuring is also helpful. I haven't always done that but it eliminates the guesswork.
Another day of subzero Arctic tundra weather so I am going to the fitness center to walk.
Yesterday, the birds had been in our little birdbath and one of them landed on a metal glider chair on our deck. His foot froze to the arm of it. I was able to dump a little warm water on the arm of the chair and free him before my dog saw him. Poor little guy was terrified but I was so glad to be in the right place at the right time.
Stay warm and blessings to all.

Last night I wanted ice cream. I didn't have any but I wanted some. Chose a cup of chai tea instead and tried to distract myself on the computer.
Still struggling to get water in. I have my large bottle with me at all times but geez. I feel like I am going to float away!
Today it is -12 here at 0800. Hoping it will get warmer. My face freezes when I step outside. Spring is about 75 days away and IMO, it won't be soon enough.
If you are a praying person, please say a prayer for my FIL. He is having mitral valve replacement this morning and is 86 years old. I am heading to the hospital at noon.
Blessings.

Losing 3.2 kg a Week

I am still trying to increase my water intake. Why is it so difficult to drink more this time around. Perhaps, the winter weather makes it harder than summer. That is the only logical excuse.
I need to plan supper for tonight. I already know I have steamed broccoli and cauliflower but what to do for a protein?
Yesterday, while I was stuck in the house due to the extreme cold advisory, I started cleaning cupboards. 2 bags of expired food tossed and 2 boxes of stuff for Goodwill. I am doing the 40 Bags in 40 Days and so far have cleared out a lot of crap!
The weight is continuing to come off and my energy level is great. I don't always have energy in the winter so I count that as a win. I am one month into weight loss and still feeling motivated.
Any tips on what works for you to stay motivated when dieting?
