Torching the steps with vacuuming are you kidding me? A 4-5 mile run will log about 8-10,000 steps and I just logged 5,000 vacuuming the house and putting away laundry. I do not live in a large house either. Love it - just another motivator to keep the losing going.

It's all mental and for me a data driven game where the numbers tell the story. Counting calories and logging food is a pain but it forces focus and that drives the better choices. Should I run today at lunch even though I am hungry and the easier thing would be to skip and eat something. Well if I run - I add an additional 500-700 calories to the daily burn and 8-12,000 steps on the Jawbone daily step count. That translates to a better number on the scale in the morning, which translates to a better waist size when looking for the next pair of jeans. Suits that sit in the closet will soon fit and that is less of money number that goes out the door. The next time I need a full blood workup for life insurance results in lower numbers on key health indicators. That translates to lower insurance rates.
Everyone has their motivators - data is mine and technology is really making it easier to lose based on numbers.

Five mile run today coupled with good choices at restaurants for lunch and dinner. Choose a great green salad over homemade fries at dinner and very satisfied. Good day - still losing. Running combined with strict logging is the key here.

Really having problems with my scale. I can't get reference. I know the weight is coming off. I know it from past experiences and that the food/exercise combination that I am putting in is working. For now, I have switched to a different scale and that will be the reference for now.

I think my scale is broken. I cleaned the bathroom and moved it and now it is all whacky. The swings it is reading are not reasonable. Going to the gym today to get a real weigh-in. My first weekend back was not as bad as I though. It was tough going at a chinese and Mexican restaurant but that was offset with both days scoring at leas 15000 steps including a 3-mile hard run on Sunday. Good times...
