Well, I went to the the family party (catered by a local barbeque place) last night. I did fairly well. Only drank water. Had a few almonds/cashews prior to dinner even though there was cheese and crackers. For dinner I had Small(er) portions of pulled pork (mine is way better and less fatty) without a bun, cajun corn, 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes ( not that great should have not eaten all the potatoes), salad with lite dressing and a small tiny piece of corn bread. For dessert I had a third of a regular size piece of cake with one small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Glad I didn't reach for a big piece of cake as the filling wasn't my favorite.

I think I hit a home run last night with my choices except for the high sodium content. Too many NSV's last night to list them all.

This morning I did an abdominal video that kicked by Abs and then 60 minutes of cardio.

Xtreme crunch-free abds

I had a light breakfast prior to lunch and I just made a small fruit smoothie with spinach, pineapple and blueberries. Yummy!

I haven't seen a lot of people at the party for 3 months and one of my SIL's told me I looked great and ask what I was doing. My other SIL kept saying how great my husband and I looked. Nice to have other people notice even though I am not doing it for them.

Down 28 lbs. 6.8 pounds left to hit my first goal. 11.8 pounds total to hit my second goal. This is where I anticipate a slow down in the weight loss. This has always been the hardest part for me. I am trying to make sure I have variety in my workouts so I don't get bored. Strength training and cardio(stationary bike, running).

Family party tonight. No control over the food being served. Local barbeque place is catering the party. Hoping there are some healthy choices. Another obstacle is that dinner isn't being served until 7-7:30 pm. Afraid I will be starving by then and want to eat everything that isn't bolted down. Gathering is small enough that they will notice if I don't eat anything (if I ate dinner earlier at home). Thinking about eating an apple or something small before I leave for the party so I am not starving when we get to the party. Any suggestions?

Yesterday I ran for the first time in a long time (2 years). Cold (40 degrees) and windy. Ran 1 mile then walked for 8 minutes. Ran another .25 miles then walked for 6 minutes then ran .13 miles. My legs felt like lead in the cold. It was the worst I have ever run but it still felt good to get out there. I would like to blame the cold weather entirely on the poor job I did but I can only blame myself. I have to say I am a "fair" weather runner...no pun intended but I really only run in fair/good weather so for me to go out in the cold weather has to count for something. I could never run more than 3 miles at one time and that was my absolute limit. So I have two weight related goals and one NSV goal.

1) lose 8.2 lbs by end of May 2015 (weigh in at 160lbs)

2) lose 10 more lbs beyond that by end of September 2015 (weigh in at 150 lbs)

3) be able to run 3 miles (without stopping) "comfortably" by end of August 2015.

It's official. I have put it down in writing so it WILL happen! I wish it was that easy. LOL.

I can do this!
