Not happy about today's weigh-in. I slipped up big time. I can't allow this to continue. I will press forward and in the end, I will be victorious.

Last night I worked mad late...until around 10p. It was insane to work 13 hours, but when things need to get done, it needs to get done. The plan was to go to the gym and make a nice shrimp stir fry for dinner, but when I got home (near the time of closing time at the gym), I see a box of Doughboy's pizza (the best in the neighborhood) sitting on the kitchen counter and all my inhibitions left me. I heated up two slices...to make matters worse I cleaned off a bag of mini rice cakes. I felt so awful afterwards. I feel like I'm in rehab or something. I've never been able to keep a healthy lifestyle for at least 21 days to make it a habit. And now, at day 12 I screw up. I'm not looking forward to the weigh in on Monday. I'm not sure what it will tell me.
Here's to day 1...again.

Yesterday was the last day of my 7-day jump start with the GNC Total Lean Fast Loss Program. And boy what a jump start it was! I lost a total of 15lbs for the week. I've learned a lot with this program which incorporated a 1200-1500 calorie per day diet, supplements and meal-replacement shakes:
1. Plan Ahead--I never went out of my way to plan ahead like I did for this past week. I put everything in baggies, including individually baggied seasoned chicken breast. This help out a lot...chicken breast was on sale at my local discount supermarket for 99 cents a pound...so I bought 5lbs and barely used 1lbs the entire week. lol I used my handy dandy scale to measure out 3 oz, seasoned it and put each 3 oz in a baggie and froze. It defrosted in minutes and ready to cook, which makes for an easy dinner after a long day of work.
2. Write down your plans--The GNC program came with a meal plan which I quickly created an Excel sheet and adjusted the foods I liked as necessary. I also wrote down the workouts I planned to do each day and planned workout dates. This helped me drastically, for someone that follows a calendar all day.
3. Schedule your eating--Speaking of calendars, I actually set reminders on my Outlook calendar to stop and eat a snack or small meal. Eating in realistic 3-4 hour increments changed my overall appetite and seemed to shrink my stomach (if that is even possible, although it certainly felt like it).
Overall, I'm glad I did this. I implemented what I learned and will continue with the same caloric value because I didn't feel deprived and it garnered results.

Feel great about this past week. I'm learning a lot about my body and what it can handle and that's an approach I have never tried before. I used to be so strict about the particular diet plan/bandwagon I've decided to jump on. But now, that I'm truly listening to my body, I'm accomplishing so much more. I'm learning to think, think again and finally ingest. Planning out my week on Sunday was probably the best thing I could've done for myself. Every success story I've heard says to do it, but for some reason, I never did. The simplicity of this principle is just amazing. I don't have to think in the morning because I have everything I need in baggies. So, that's definitely something that I will use as a tool going forward. Anyway, I know this is super long, but I feel good. Not only on the inside, but about how I'm doing it.

I had my first session with my personal trainer this morning and he worked my arms beyond I ever would! I'm glad I signed up to see him once a week, at least I know I'm working out to my full potential once a week and I'm armed with what I need to do the following days of the week. I'm excited to see my progress in the next 6 months. :-)
