Yesterday was such a hard day! Okay, the day was fine, it was last night that was the challenge. I taught until 4 and then came home to watch the Yankees on tv. That part was fine. I made sure to eat as soon as I got home. Then, I scouted the kitchen to see what dangerous food was there. One roomate left a box of apple fritters and a bag of BBQ potato chips. I called my sister and gave those to her just to get them out of the house. I figure I can pay my roomate for that food when he gets back. So, that was a life saver.
Then,I went for a walk! Yay! It was a light walk because it was still really hot, but still. Then Dinner. And then... the cravings set in. I was so glad that I gave my sister that food, there was NO way I would have been able to stay on track. But I did it. I had an extra Atkins bar and an extra diet soda, but I still consider it a major victory.
I weighed this morning and I had lost another 2 pounds this week. So, I am so glad I didn't eat anything off program! Yay. I know that because I made it through yesterday that it will give me a little more strength to make it through today.

This week will be a challenge for me. All my roomates will be out of town for the week. This leaves me on my own! Yikes. I am a lifelong binge eater, which if anyone else has experienced this type of disordered eating it is usually an activity done in secret. A house to myself used be the best time to binge eat. I have to remind myself over and over again this week that I am eating healthy for MYSELF and not for anyone else. Self accountability will be a huge hurdle this week.

The day before I started back on Atkins I went clothes shopping. I have been one size above my "normal" size 18 for about a year. I knew I was in trouble when my size 20/22 "fat clothes" size began fitting tighter and tighter, so I knew I was above "normal"; but I thought maybe one size above. Wrong. I was having trouble fitting into a 26! I had already decided to begin Atkins, but that moment was surely a wake up call.
Yesterday, I began fitting into 22s again. Not perfectly, but at least I know I am moving back down the size ladder. My first goal is to get back into my "normal" wardrobe size 18. After that I would like to go to a 14. I haven't been smaller than a 14 since the 10th grade. So, we'll see how it goes from there. But it is encouraging to see my body changing for the better.

So, the truth is that I kind of need a butt kicking. I keep saying that I will start walking again. Last year this time I was walking 3-6 miles a day. But, here I am, saying, "tomorrow, tommorrow, I'll get back out there tomorrow." Grrrrr.
