Good morning everyone!

I'm near Washington DC this weekend and staying at a nice hotel.

I really want to lose this weight and to protect my investment so to speak, I've been researching nutrition for AFTER my weight loss.

I feel much more confident that I can do this now. I know how to get the weight off; I was just worried about keeping it off.

I'm on Atkins and as a self proclaimed carb addict, there is NO way this could be a life long change for me. I have NO intentions of giving up my favorite foods forever.

I chose Atkins because it gets the weight off FAST for me. It really does. Nothing else works.

So to keep from putting the weight back on after Atkins, I'm learning about proper nutrition. Things like PORTION sizes, how much fat, carbs, and sugar I should allow myself on a daily basis...the fundamentals of a well balanced diet that includes ALL food groups.

Atkins isn't something I can live with the rest of my life, but after researching nutrition, I realize that after I lose this weight, I can easily still eat healthy and keep my weight off while enjoying foods that I love in moderation. So, I can live without my favorite foods right now because I know it's only TEMPORARY.

I honestly think I need to restrict my diet right now simply because I have no moderation skills!!!

I found a couple of great sites last night and my favorite one will be linked at the end of my journal.

I highly suggest you guys check it out. I've learned so much about nutrition and weight loss.

I've started drinking 2 cups of hot green tea daily. The benefits are amazing. That site will show them too...all teas are great for your health...from helping you to lose weight, to fighting cancer, and protecting your body from free radicals...

I really want to get some acai berry. I've heard great things about it. I've researched that quite a bit as well.

I've began taking a multi-vitamin to make sure my body's getting what it needs while my diet is so restrictive. I feel better already.

It really does feel great to take care of yourself. I wish I would've started years ago.

It's much easier to eat right when you're educated about nutrition. Check out this site and tell me what you think! It answered ALOT of my questions.

I OUTSMARTED MYSELF!

Yes, outsmarted myself.

You know that dilemma I was having eating right while traveling?

Well last night, I got this brilliant idea. =)

I went to the grocery store and bought broccoli, cucumber, ice berg and romaine lettuce, salad dressing, sugar free coffee creamer, pork chops, steaks, and eggs.

I went home and cooked all the meat and boiled the eggs and chopped up all the veggies, put them in their little plastic containers, and placed them in a plastic bag. Now, I'm in my hotel snacking on string cheese and don't even have to worry about gracing the steps of a restaurant.

I saved money and my diet in one simple step.

I can't help but to feel proud of myself.

I even remembered my swim suit this time so I can get in 30 min of swimming plus 30 min in the fitness center each morning!

I can't stop smiling at my genius....LOL.
