It's been seven months since I've had a chance to work out or even prioritize exercise in my day. I must refocus, get off this railway of inertia. It will only lead to discouragement, lack of confidence, jealousy, etc. It's a good thing work is counteracting all that. I'm stretching my wings, learning and reinforcing skills and talents and traits I wasn't sure I had. lol

I'm not even going to admit my shameful behavior. Education is NOT synonymous with wisdom, neither is experience! How many times do we tempt fate before our lessons learned materialize into wise choices? Stubborn woman! You go stand in the corner and think about what you've done to yourself. Who's gonna pay for this?

I was so happy to reach this milestone again when I weighed in this morning! I was on a cloud, but a realistic cloud nonetheless. I still have fatty pockets in areas that need work. It's very easy to do my nightly aerobic workout, but it takes a lot more discipline to work in a strength-training session. Why? Because it's a lot more painful to feel muscles burning. Nothing burns when I'm running. Plus, strength-training is boring. You don't "go" anywhere; you're stuck in the same place the whole time. And the third reason that it's such a distasteful activity is that you have to wait forever to see results. I know that if I could afford a personal trainer, it's what I would do. I need external motivation for that activity. I'm not going to lie; I know my limits. But hopefully, joining the Brazilian Butt Lift challenge will do the trick, plus my own personal workouts. Nevertheless, I'll be on my way to maintenance in no time. Good bye fatty. And if you think you have something to say about it, just remember, you can be a skinny fatty, okay. :-)

Has anyone every tried a mini-fast? It's pretty simple and has to do with timing. For a few hours before and after you exercise daily for 20-45 minutes in the morning, don't eat until lunch. Your body should be in a fasting state. Any exercise during that state will burn fat instead of carbs, will shut off your appetite, and your body will continue to use fat as a source of energy until you eat. For those of you who worry that the needle on the scale is broken, read the full article on the mini-fast. Lemme know if you've ever tried it. It could be just what your body needs: http://www.whitakerwellness.com/our-therapies/fasting/content/article/Mini-Fast-Your-Way-to-Health.html

Nice, the heat and humidity lifted and my body flushed out excess water that was making me feel and look like my efforts were to no avail. I'll even blame the full moon, just cause I can. Yipee, nothing as satisfying as progress...when it's real.
