Kallau's Journal, 11 Apr 11

I don't own a scale so I have to find places to weigh in. I don't think I am really up because of the way my clothes are fitting and how I am feeling. I believe the different scale, time of day and place have made a difference. There is a scale at work so I will now weigh in there when I arrive once a week. With the same time, place and scale maybe I can get a more consistent accurate reading.

When I first weighed myself this morning I was a little discouraged by the number and I started to beat myself up about it. That was short lived. I told myself I have been doing really well, my clothes are fitting looser, and I feel good. That success doesn't always show in the numbers. I did the positive affirmations that I love myself, I'm worth the efforts I'm putting in, that things are shifting. It ended up being a great day.

Today was the first day without my car too. So I started out with a wonderful morning walk to work. The weather was perfectly cool and crisp. I then walked to Walk/Run Clinic where I am a walk group leader and we did hill repeats for an hour, then I walked home. I am beat, a good beat. So I am off to bed for some well deserved rest.
Good night all. Sleep well :-)

Kallau, I have to honestly say, that the best measure IS how your clothes are fitting and how you feel. That scale can be the death of us! It starts to take over a life and people get obsessed with the number, myself included. And doing it at the same time and place is great for a baseline, but as far as accurate, unless you know that the sccale has been calibrated correctly, don't take it as gold and just use it as a baseline. Good for you for doing repeats for an hour! Ouch! And I have to tell you, your profile pic is just the cutest happiest pic! I love it!
