Despite going over RDI I feel I'm doing quite well with no snacks between meals, no evening munchies (we're having dinner much later at the moment)and plenty of exercise. The scales are going down slowly.

Hormones, bloating, lethargy - I'm all over the place and have been for a couple of months. All excuses, I know, but they really do make it hard to stay focussed.
Anyway, I had a good couple of days since coming back online and am beginning to feel in the groove again.
The sunshine and exercise certainly helps. Walking on sand is reawakening muscles that have been unused since last summer - the inconsistent surface must be great for the legs! Long walk of about 6km followed by a swim for 20 minutes or so - that's the best part of my day. When I get past the built-up (!) part of the beach there's a completely wild and undeveloped stretch where I can walk in solitude and silence, watching the birds, fish and sometimes (like on Sunday) dolphins. Heaven.

Yes, I've been offline for over a week as we moved over and settled in to our summer house.
I haven't been being too careful with the diet but I haven't been going crazy either, and I have started to make long walks along the beach a regular thing. I've also started swimming most days.
Now that the house is more settled and Ramazan starts tomorrow, I feel ready to get myself back on track and concentrate on dropping a couple of kilos before I go on holiday in about two weeks' time.
So there's the focus and the motivation, and with people around me not eating for 18 hours a day it will be easier not to go to the fridge too often!
BTW - I have to be honest - this is 58kg on the summer house scales, where I was regularly weighing in at 55 or less last summer :(

Gaining 0.1 kg a Week
23 June 2013
Guests and PMT have led me off the trail and kept me away from fs. It's absolutely no use crying over spilt milk but even without weighing myself this morning I know I'm hovering just under 60 kg - a gain of more than 2 kg over 10 days.
This has got to stop. It's difficult because I feel really bloated, classic PMT symptoms but nothing happening, which I guess is to be expected at my age. Those symptoms really give me the munchies, though, and I've been giving in to it. If I'm honest, most evenings I've literally been bingeing on ice cream, pringles and chocolate.
So, aiming for a normal RDÄ° day and a long walk today, then a fast day tomorrow and get back to my usual Monday & Thursday fast day routine.
Edit: Long walk completed and food planned for the rest of the day.

I haven't been recording my food for a few days because my heart's not in it - I have so much going on I don't know where to start so just plodding through and trying to stay sane.
A couple of buddies have inboxed me so I'll say here that the political situation here in Turkey at the moment is very volatile but not dangerous if you avoid the protests which generally take place in city squares in the evenings. I joined a protest meeting on the first evening but since then I've been supporting from home via facebook and twitter. The PM has threatened to arrest everyone (!) who's posted anti govt stuff on social media but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I've only told the truth and given my own opinions without using bad language or insulting anyone so I'm ready to stand by that when they take me away :)
This is not to detract from the state (police) violence against peaceful protesters which is definitely happening. The PM's take on the situation is utterly deluded and full of lies.
Anyway, enough politics for fs - just to let you know I'm OK, fine, in fact :)
