Ugh,... I'm so disappointed in myself. For the past 2 days I've had such a horrible craving for junk food. It just makes me mad that I try to avoid processed crap and look for healthy foods to try yet I end up ruining my diet with junk. I've been trying to avoid pop altogether and what do I get at Subway today?? - A diet coke. Too bad I read the article about aspartame poisoning AFTER I drank the diet coke. That just gives me more reason to quit pop though. I do feel like I experience a lot of the symptoms of aspartame poisoning, but they're pretty common ailments,... headaches, weight gain, fluid retention, cravings for sugary foods...actually, it sounds like PMS! I really want to cut out anything with aspartame in it for maybe 60 days to see if it makes a difference. So long sugar-free popsicles, jell-o and diet coke, it was nice knowing you!

Today I decided I'm going to cut out all carbonated drinks unless I'm out at a restaurant. I don't eat fast food that often and when I do, it's usually Subway anyway. They have light lemonade, so I'll get that instead of pop. I've been drinking Monster energy drinks way too much lately too. Work has been crazy and I haven't gotten much sleep lately so I've felt I've needed that extra caffeine to get me through the day. I'm not really sure what kind of effect those drinks have on people so it's probably best to just avoid them altogether.

I'm slowly improving how I eat. I just bought some Ezekiel bread the other day. I've always wanted to try that stuff but I didn't know my grocery store carried it. I just came upon it while looking for veggies, it was in the freezer section! Did you know Ezekiel bread is flourless? I got the Cinnamon Raisin kind and it's so good! My next new item is barley. I have some barley sitting in my cabinet and haven't made anything with it yet. I'm thinking I might have to make soup this weekend with barley.
