Day 3 of the Fat Fast, yeah for me I made it!! Tomorrow will be the test when I step on the scale! The fast was very easy, I had no issues, never felt hungry, and enjoyed everything I ate. I will go back to my food plan tomorrow but am going to try to up my fat and drop my protein a little. I am down to four weeks and counting until I travel back to Illinois for an old friends wedding, who I haven't seen in about 20 years! The wedding itself will have it's challenges especially the drinking, and the next day we are going to the Cubs game so that will be the hardest! I will do my best, I am not going to stress over it and if I fall off the wagon I will come home and try another Fat Fast to jump start my body back into ketosis. Have my niece's wedding in late Aug so that should keep me focused to work on pairing down that 75 lbs that I would love to shed before then. Would LOVE to buy something pretty and sexy for the wedding! :)

Starting Day 2 of my Fat Fast, will try 3 days this week, maybe another 3 days next week after getting in some protein. Yesterday went better than I had expected, no real hunger to speak of and felt great during the day. Have to admit I got a little cranky making dinner, not because I was hungry or craving what I was cooking, just felt a little flustered I guess, but it passed quickly and all was good with the world again! LOL
In one day ketone levels went from small to moderate, hoping to get into the large range by Sun. This is definitely a plan that needs to be tweaked according to our own diet history, and state of metabolic resistance, not the fast but the plan itself. I was taking in way to much protein and not enough healthy fats. Will add things like coconut oil, avocado, and more butter to the things I cook to bring my levels up. I did not do the fast because I was not losing, I did it to get my body into a better(higher level) of ketosis. Doing the fast I am eating 5 times per day and that may be something I will try to stick with after the end of the fast, so much better for the metabolism. Well time to go eat meal #2 for the day. Stay strong warriors! LOL

Today will be a rocky start to my Fat Fast, not because I don't want too but mainly because I don't have all the proper ingredients on hand. Unless I get my butt to the store today I will either have to wing it with what I have or I may postpone another day. The original Atkins fast has you eating things that would make the fat fast very difficult for me to follow, but I found a web site called Carb Smart and have gotten some amazing information,that has given me some great insight and also some delicious recipes that will help me stay on the fast for 3 or 5 days and enjoy doing it!

Well I am now 3 days into week 5, I have been reading all the info on ketosis, and that it is not a good indicator to use ketone sticks. Since my curiosity got the best of me I bought some today and found that I was only putting out small amts of ketones. That was a major disappointment, especially since I have stuck with the plan pretty close to 100% everyday,so after a lot more research on here and the Carb Smart site I have decided to try a 3 day Fat Fast. I got some great recipe ideas from the Carb Smart site and will start tomorrow. Yes I am losing, but I want to see how much better I can do with my body working in full ketosis.

Made it through today, out with family and then made a stop at Burger King, had double whopper, no bun, lettuce, tomato, and some mustard. Felt like a good choice to me, felt good about it, now on to tomorrow.
