I have lost 16 pounds since the 1st of February. I have lost 23 pounds total since the first of the year. I feel sooo good and positive about what I am doing! I go to the gym at least 3 times per week if not more, and I Zumba for 40-60 minutes on the days I don't go to the gym. I am loving Zumba even more than I did when I started because I am getting stronger and faster and the moves are becoming easier. If I can't do a move, I sprint in place or do jumping jacks to the beat until I can get back in step. I LOVE IT!!! I have increased my weights at the gym and found ways to challenge myself on the treadmill and the stair climber. I am becoming a "person who works out" instead of a "formerly active athlete" who never lost the baby weight from 10 years ago. My smaller clothes fit me again and I just FEEL better. I am not finished yet, but thank you fatsecret for getting me started and giving me a place to journal and connect with people like me.

So I feel like I am doing pretty well. I am losing weight and moving better. I am only a few pounds away from actually weighing what my driver's license says I weigh! I played some basketball a couple days ago and it didn't totally suck, so I know I am getting healthier. I feel pretty good about me even though things are a little rough around the edges of my life right now. I had a huge emotional breakthrough with my daughter, but then I wanted to eat eat eat--sugar, ice cream, chocolate, cookies, anything!!!! But I didn't do it. I kept moving through the store, bought the things I needed and left. That I was cognizant of my impulse to feed my emotions, and that I didn't blow my whole day by binging on candy and chocolate was a HUGE accomplishment for me. YAY, me!

So I am back on track and I have triumphed over last week's mini vacation. I am really working on not weighing myself everyday, but I am a little compulsive so I haven't succeeded yet. Tried yoga again for the first time in over three years, and while it was easier than I remember, I can't help but think I am doing it wrong because my body is nowhere near as flexible as the instructor on the DVD. So another work in progress, because I definitely need the stretching and to work on my flexibility! The DVD said, "touch your shin," I thought, "My thigh is pretty close to my shin." LOL
