Yesterday was day 2 of detox, and it is actually going really well! I've lost 3 pounds so far, and I have a lot of energy. The vegetable bean soup recipe on here is great, and a perfect lunch. It's hearty and filling, and doesn't leave you wanting more.
I made a non-dairy breakfast smoothie this morning, and it wasn't that good...it was frozen raspberries, an ounce of unsweetened cranberry juice, water, a little flax seed oil, and some soy protein powder. I don't have any experience with protein powder, and maybe that was the problem, but I had to choke it down! Still on the hunt for a good, quick breakfast.
I ordered the book, and it should arrive today, so once I have that, I'll have a better idea of what is good and bad, so I can start making my own recipes - that will be a relief!
Another hour of tennis last night, it looks like its going to be rainy for the rest of the week, so we're going to try and get another hour in tonight, and think of some rainy day activities.

Well, nearly done with detox day 1... It really hasn't been bad. I only felt hungry once, and instead of munching, I had a glass of water...it really does work!
I made the vegetable quiche for breakfast - it wasn't bad, but it wasn't Earth-shatteringly good either. :-) It needs more seasoning - then I think it will work. I had a nectarine for snack, and I had the fried rice for lunch, which was actually great. For dinner I have planned the Moroccan sweet potato casserole...I'll let you know how it is. I am making the vegetable bean stew right now to bring for lunch this week - it smells and looks delicious, so I have high hopes of sticking to it!
My husband and I played tennis for over an hour yesterday, and had a ton of fun. It was the first time either of us had run around in way too long. It rained today, but the forecast is looking up, so we hope to play quite a bit this week after work.
