Losing 1.0 kg a Week
16 March 2012
So as soon as I finished my P90X cardio workout I turned on the news to see weather people going nuts about heavy storms that were directly west of us and possibly causing tornadoes. So we had to forgo our healthy dinner plan and go wait out the storm in the basement.
Problem was, my brother was on his way home from work and stuck in the mess and came over to stay in our basement with us until it passed. Well, I only had enough dinner ingredients for two. So that meant going out to eat after the storm passed, as long as everything was okay.
Turns out, directly to our west, everything was not okay, as tornadoes took out homes and businesses and 2.5" hail battered everything in sight. We were fine, but the storm was VERY slow moving, and we ended up spending 3 hours in the basement waiting for it to pass.
Since I only had 500 calories earlier in the day (200 for breakfast and 300 for lunch), and did a pretty intense workout, I was STARVING. And since I didn't have enough food, or enough patience to make something after we could come out of the basement, we decided to go out.
My tanked blood sugar got the best of me, and we all got burgers with a cup of soup and a cookie. It didn't seem too bad at first. Maybe only one potato's worth of fries, a simple burger, about 8oz of soup, and one cookie. Problem is, when I looked up the calories, the fries somehow have 310 calories, the cookie has 240, the soup has like 300, and the burger has
1100
! I was slightly beside myself too see how many calories I just ate.
But! I still burned more calories than I ate for the day. Thank you P90X! I weighed myself this morning, and my scale said I was a full pound heavier than yesterday. I'm not that surprised. This always happens when I first start working out. I think it's new muscle mass or something, because I totally look skinnier.
So to see if I really was a little skinnier I took one of my measurements, and sure enough, my waist is a FULL INCH smaller than it was yesterday. I thought maybe I did it wrong, but after taking it about 4 more times (cause I don't know I'm OCD like that), it was definitely an entire inch smaller. And that's even with not drinking a ton of water, and eating a fatty salty dinner at like 9pm.
So I know something is working! We're going to my parents' house this weekend, and I'm going to bring my dvds there too. Hopefully they're not planning on having something super fattening like pizza or something. I've had more junk food this week alone than I usually have in an entire MONTH. lol maybe it's not muscle mass, maybe it's just junk food mass.

Did Kenpo X yesterday. I thought I wouldn't be able to move today, but I'm not as sore as I thought I would be. So that's good. Also, was bad and went out for an oreo blizzard with my husband. Still, I burned more calories than I ate, and I was only 1% over my daily calorie limit.
Oh, and that includes the FRIED mandu my husband brought home as a surprise snack that I definitely would have turned down if he asked me if I wanted them. But They would have been soggy and not so good if I saved them for today. And even with those two bad things in my diet, I'm still on good track.
Not sure what workout I'm going to do today. I've got P90X, Zumba, and 30 day shred. I'll decide when I get home I guess.
