Interesting observation while preparing my jacket potato, back bacon, greens and a knob or two of Flora Light.
On MFS a McCain's jacket spud has a "default serving" of 200g. But when I took one out of the freezer it weighed 214g. And when I baked it it subsequently came in at at 185g
Similarly with rashers of back bacon is quoted on here as a 100g serving. But after grilling it comes in at just 62g!
Clearly the water from both frozen items makes a difference, but clearly post-cooked calorie values are radically different to what I presume are pre-cooked calorie values quoted on here.
Anyway, the meal was very nice and filling for all that.

This morning, while getting dressed, I noticed a certain looseness around the belt area, which is always a good sign of visible weight-loss. I also noticed I was already using the final belt hole too!
I don't have a smaller belt to hand just yet, so I had to improvise by putting a couple of new holes into my existing belt using a drill. I made sure to keep a 25mm gap between each hole, and when I fastened up again I noticed I could use the 2nd of the two holes quite comfortably. But decided to go with the first new hole instead.
I then decided to have trawl through one of my wardrobe drawers and managed to find two old belts with make-shift holes in. These were belts I originally wore before I started dieting with MyFatSecret way back in 2014/5 when I was something like 245 pounds!
I wrapped one of those belts round my waist and I could have quite easily drilled 4 or 5 new holes into it along with all the other makeshift holes I'd done over time.
I will now order a smaller belt, and store the belt I am wearing now along with the other two for posterity, and as a key reminder of how big my waistline was back in the day :)

Another 2 pounds off, although I was secretly hoping for 3! But I can't complain "off is better than on" as they say. Would have wanted to be far more physically active with a few more long walks last week, but the appalling weather put paid to that.
So very close to breaking that psychological "200 pound" barrier - perhaps this time next week I will do so because saying "19x pounds" sounds far better than "200x pounds" in relative terms. And then perhaps I can hit the "13 stone (195 lbs)" zone for the first time in years!
But I have been this close a number of times over the last few years, but failed to push on. So am under no illusion this will be any more different if I don't make the extra effort.
Roll on 9th Feb :)

3 pound loss in 6 days. No big surprises really given the start of the diet. But at least its a step in the right direction. Just need to keep it on a downward path for the next 12 months rather than up and down.
