Ack!!! I didn't even think to look at the nutritionals on my supplements. Not good. Not good at all. I take stuff for overall wellness/energy which will be put away for awhile because the daily dose net carbs is 4g and the stuff I take for my joints is also 4g. Maybe I'll have to take one on one day and the other on the next and alternate. Or perhaps look for something a little less net carby. I'm wondering if it's because these two supplements are not in pill form? One is a liquid and the other is a gummy. I have an incredibly difficult time swallowing pills and the ones I used to take for my joints gagged me to the point that I just quit taking them.
To ache or not to ache that is the question. One of the reasons I need/want to take 50 pounds off my 5'7.5" (I swear I used to be 5'8" which means you know a 50 lb difference was a-ok) frame is so my joints aren't as stressed but if my knees won't work then I won't work. Dilemmas, dilemmas...

I got my 4 miles in today which I didn't do yesterday because I got so sidetracked investigating this website as well as a couple of others that pertain to Atkins including their official website. Time just flew and before I knew it I had run out of it and had to run several errands.
I think karma got me for it today though. The wind is blowing steadily around 20mph and gusting even higher and for the first 2 miles I was walking against it and didn't think I'd make it, but there are a lot of senior citizens who walk where I walk and dangit, if they can do it, I can do it. Some of them even walk with canes or walkers. The good news though was the wind was at my back on the last 2 miles.
Bonus: free exfoliation from being sandblasted while walking along the beach.
There is a silver lining after all.

That wasn't so scary now, was it?
I was terrified about completely changing my mindset about the things I consumed, but I made it through day one and I came to a startling realization...
If I stick to the recommended SERVING SIZES then the calorie count really won't be insane.
That was my big fear with Atkins even though I've read and read and read I still couldn't get it through my thick melon that I wasn't going to end up shoveling several thousands of calories of bacon down my cake hole.
Granted, I'm used to eating a more plant based diet, but I needed to eat waaaaaay more to feel satisfied. And that led to so much mindless grazing I grew to be the size of a farm animal that spends all of it's days grazing mindlessly.
So to all of my family and friends who poo-pood the idea of Atkins, a big fat raspberry to you. And to the few who actually listened to me explain how it works a great big thank you for keeping an open mind and for being encouraging.
Okay Day Two. I'm ready. Let's get going!
