Needing to constantly remind myself to claim the victory, not the temptation. Need to add veggies and fruits to replace the crap! Lean on God, not self.

What great thing have I traded for so little in return? How often do I trade healthy food for junk food? What temporary pleasure have I craved so much that I gave up lasting victory?
I do this all the time. I justify and rationalize eating the crap, instead of reaching for the healthy food. The junk tastes better. I'll just have a handful. I don't journal it. Then I wonder why the scale isn't moving. I know why it's not moving! I am trading in temporary pleasures for lasting victory!
Let me look for the ways out and gain the victory instead of succumbing to the temptations.

"God loves you so much that He doesn't want you to stay in a place of defeat." (from Craving God, a 21 day devotional) If I am a woman of God, why do I let myself get so defeated when it comes to food? If I am "more than a conqueror", how does the pantry conquer ME time and again? I've come to see that this is as much a spiritual battle as a physical one. I've been focused on getting skinny, not getting healthy. I need to shift my focus to God, on WHY I'm doing this, and not just on the selfish end result.

I've decided to train to rune 2-3 5Ks this year. I am going to do my first one in March. I walked it last year. This year I want to walk/jog it. I am excited and nervous! I've started training, as best I know how. I did 3 miles on my treadmill in 48 minutes. Would love to get that time way down! I need better aerobic endurance. I also don't have loads of time, so need to figure out how to also build in the strength exercises. **sigh** Too little time in a day!
