I'm 42 yrs, married with two children
I have done alot of diets in the past.
Last year I did the Shangri-La method of curbing appetite
and it really worked -eating everything but in the end less and also lowering my set point with the falvorless calories (tablespoon of oil)
I tried South Beach phase one for a while in May and when I sticked to the phase one rules I certainly lost weight. But I had problems sticking to to phase one beacause of my lifestyle. ANd then once I would eat the wrong carbs I would totally go on a binge eating non stop BaD CARBS . leaving me feel dissapointed in myself and heavier
So I am back to eating my favorite foods which are basically healthy and not forbidding myself anything. So I dont feel frustrated and end up binging . The "unhealthy foods" i just eat 1 to 2 bites. This results me in staying the same weight- plus or minus a pound- my set point.
I hope the Shangri-la way will lower my setpoint. ( Last year it did) so I lose the 5 pounds set as goal.
