My aim is to reduce body fat healthily from the higher end of normal weight to the lower end. For me, this means calorie-controlled exercise and food.
The exercise is normally 750 kcals per day on cross-trainer, stepper and treadmill at around 65-75% max heart rate. In between each cardio machine, I work on a muscle-building resistance machine but don't count the calories burned.
The food is balanced and healthy, aiming for enough protein to rebuild muscle, and enough carbs/fat to supply energy while reducing weight, and natural vitamins/minerals from fruit/veg etc to support. I don't take any supplements except a protein drink after exercise. I do feel hungry in the evenings and try to minimise food after dinner by drinking lots of coffee and zero-added sugar fizzy drinks.
All food and significant exercise is counted as carefully and fully as possible. The main point of FatSecret for me is the ease with which calories can be counted; it is amusing to see the crazy diets others try as FatSecret allows sharing but frustratingly food logs are often not fully completed...
