Well, today is Day One of my attempt to get down to 135 pounds. I have gained quite a bit of weight over the past 2 years, and really want to get back down to close to where I used to be. I am doing Fat Smash b/c a couple of my friends have had good luck with it. I had fun at the grocery store today. I got lots of vegetables, some egg whites, fruits, oatmeal, etc. I had to avert my eyes when I passed the ice cream, potatoes, fried chicken, and a few other things...but I consoled myself with the fact that I got to buy different sorts of beans, a mango, and some raw green beans (my favorites). Anyhow, just wanted to post and say "hello"...hoping to get in touch with a diet buddy or two that can help keep me accountable, as I'm in a social crowd that pays little attention to food intake! I'm anxious to explore the site a little bit, get some ideas, and get a clearer understanding of what I should be eating and what I should avoid. Oh, also, I'm a pretty devout member of a gym...I typically do 30 minutes of cardio, 10 minutes of abs, and sometimes some weights. If you have suggestions of things I should add, I would appreciate them!! I'm so glad to have found this website...I'm sure it will be quite helpful. And I'm so pleased to see so many people having awesome success!!!

Welcome! You really can get creative with the beans- chili, soups, beans & brown rice.Make lots of salads & add toasted garbanzo beans on top. And you can have sweet potatoes NOW! My husband & I are doing this together so that helps- we have been on this program for 5 weeks I lost 13 & my hubby lost 24 so far - we also go to the gym regularly- Well lots of luck - YOU CAN DO IT!!

Really?? Toasted garbonzo beans?? That sounds SO GOOD!! How do you make them? Also...about salads...I am such a huge dressing fanatic. What do I do about THAT? Thanks for the welcome, by the way!! 13 pounds...that's awesome!!!

Welcome to the new you! Sounds like you are totally committed to doing this and that spells success! As long as you have your mind set you will succeed! As for the dressing, you can have fat free, but minimal amounts.....like 2 or 3 TBSP. Wishing you the best!

I am also an eye diverter in the grocery store! I have found that buying good food is a heck of a lot more expensive than quick stuff! Welcome to the site and don't give up!
