I drink mine in coffee. My friend drinks hers in almond milk which has a lot fewer calories than cow milk. My daughter mixes the chocolate with chai tea, but the vanilla would probably be good in that. I usually drink the fat-free skim milk which also has fewer calories than whole milk. Good luck!

I was going to try almond milk, though I'm hesitant to try coffee. I should just suck it up and buy skim, but I have always had whole milk since I was a kiddo so its hard to say goodbye to it 😥😣

Maybe the chocolate flavor will help though :)

Spinach/ protein smoothie? Or drink half of a serving? Use half to make a chocolate iced chai. Mix it into raw scrambled egg and make little pancakes. Tons of possibilities. 😊

Use unsweetened almond milk. Much much fewer calories with still some milk consistency.

I second the unsweetened almond milk! I've been using the almond coconut blend, it has 35 calories, <1 carb per cup.

Paige- why are your protein requirements so high? I'm lifting weights and mine are quite a bit lower than yours.

Hi Paige- well it just depends on how you are approaching weight loss. What research you are following etc. Whichever plan you choose, it seems reasonable and sustainable to get there with real food for the most part. So which approach did you adopt that recommended 40% protein? I'm not familiar with all the plans out there.

Whatever approach you pick one 3-4 ounce serving of protein 3x a day is more than enough grams, even when you are exercising moderately. At your weight and light exercise and no other factors, 100 grams would "seem" to cover your nutrient needs. I'm not a dietician though.

I never follow dietary intake on protein anymore. I take way under the rdi. I'm still alive and healthy.

I belong to a group on FB called Ketogains. I lost a lot of weight eating high fat but didn't eat enough protein and also lost significant muscle. I had lost over 100 lbs but still had 41% body fat. After using KG macros for several months I'm at 29% and feel so much better. I still eat higher fat but also enough protein to preserve muscle, and low carb. If nothing else, you could check them out and see where their calculator lands you in regards to protein/fat/carbs...

Would getting more protein daily harm me, or would carbs be more harmful? I didnt follow an approach per say, I just said hmm...I want to eat less carbs and more protein and thats what I came up with lol if its not harmful to have more protein then I think I'll continue to eat as much as I do. Though its good to know that if I fall short one or two days, I'm not depriving my body of its needs.

I drink a cup of whole milk (150 calories and 8 gm protein) with 2 scoops of BioChem Berries & Whey protein powder (110 calories and 20 gm protein) and the whole thing is only 260 calories. What kind of protein powder are you using that has so many calories?

I think its because I got chocolate flavor. It has 220 in two scoops. But it calls for 12 oz. So the milk ends up being 225...plus the 220. So like 450...
I got it (isopure) because its reputation for being smooth and easy to drink (its true), and because its only 3g carbs and 0 sugar.
