Gabbie1018's Journal, 06 Nov 15

Gained 8 lbs since my last post in July. I actually gained the weight since September which is surprising as I usually gain weight in the summer, not when summer is over. I don't like the way the added 8 lbs feels. Definitely fuller in the chest and around the waist. Yesterday I put on a pair of shorts I wore in the summer and they were definitely tighter. I told myself that I was only going to let my weight fluctuate on the scale by 5 lbs at most but so much for that plan. I have been weighing myself every day but came up with excuses as the weight crept up. The tighter shorts really shocked me back to reality.

Two reasons I think the weight has come back..

a) Not exercising as often. I was exercising 3-4 times a week and now I am lucky if I run 2 days a week and I am not doing any strength training.

b) Food intake.
I am snacking when I get home from work which I had stopped for a very long time. Prior to the weight gain, if I did eat anything after work it was veggies and water.
Eating dessert every night.
Having second helpings (dinner) 2-3 times a week.
Poor choices when eating out.

Those two things are a recipe for disaster for me. I am bound and determined to get the 8 lbs off before the end of the year which I think is definitely doable even with the holidays approaching. Back to logging my food intake. I can do this!

Welcome back. You know what the problem is and have a plan to attack it, that is great. Use that determination to get right back on track with it, you can do it!

I had to totally stop snacking. 3 good meals and that is all. Snacking leads to too many options where I can slip up. Plus, it ads up.

Yes! You can do it - in fact, this is a great time of year to really start logging so you do not go completely off track. And you have lost a significant amount of weight and worked hard, You know how to do it! Good Luck!
