So he's a frustrating truth of dieting, unhealthy bad food is cheaper then good healthy food. I just bought lunch in my cafeteria, Cajun chicken thighs and two sides, the two sides being water logged broccoli & cauliflower and slimy okra. I chose those two in lieu of French fries and rice. I paid $7 for the joy of eating the single 3 oz thigh and distasteful accoutrements while the guy in front of my paid $4 for a cheeseburger, fries and a coke. Where's the love, where's the justice.

It's thinking like that that gets you into trouble sir. Look for other choices, or stay out of the cafeteria. Talk to the cooks about healthy choices. Go for a choice of single foods instead of the 'deals' that will rock those lbs. Pack your own lunch,,,,Pack your own lunch,,,,,Pack your own lunch...

I know what you are saying, it is WAY cheaper to purchase junk food. But look at it this way, what you are not paying out of pocket for that cheap, unhealthy meal you will be paying for with your health. The long term is very expensive in many ways. I think between the convenience and affordability of fast food, that is a major contributor to the obesity problem in the US. At the same time, we have to be responsible for our own choices and that of our children so can't blame a business for doing what they do. I pack my lunch or know of places around work that have healthy options.

It's cheaper to bring your own food. Chicken thighs aren't that expensive in the super market. You can cook on weekends and plan out your lunches to bring with you during the week. Buy vegetables and fruits in season. You can bring all kinds of interesting foods for lunch. Think outside the lunch box, lol!

You should have given it back. If they can't cook healthy food well, they shouldn't sell it. If the fatty cheeseburger was horrid you sure would have said something!?
