I just don't understand why my weight fluctuates so much day-to-day. It can be both very discouraging and exhilarating. For instance, two days ago I lost 1 1/4 pounds. Then yesterday I gained it all back. Now today the scales say I've lost 2 3/8 pounds.
I have verified my scale is accurate. It is very repeatable as I have tested it with heavy inert objects and it always reads the same. It is a good quality balance-beam scale and I am careful to place my feet on the platform in as nearly the same place as I can every day.
So it makes me wonder, no matter what I do today, how much am I going to gain tomorrow? This tends to sabotage my diet and is self-defeating.
And I don't know what to do about it.
