First of all i'm not quite on the atkins diet yet. What i'm currently doing is tracking what I *normally* eat so I can see just how many carbs I'm consuming in a typical week. I know that I have a weakness for fruit and that's where a lot of my carbs come from - my sweet tooth.

I don't think i'm going to go with induction and all that. I don't have a lot of weight to lose - I'm thinking 15 pounds is acceptable. my current weight is a guess, as I don't own a scale.

the biggest problem is going to be protein. I don't usually eat a lot of meat but I know that if I'm knocking out carbs then protein has to step in.

the success of Atkins depends on getting your body into a state of ketosis and that can only happen if you get your carbs below 40g per day. Induction is best to start because it really snaps your system to attention and gets that chemistry started right away for ketosis. Once it is in effect, you will not crave fruits, or anything else sweet or starchy.
