If I followed the 2300 cal intake as recommended, I would weigh over 300 pounds! I am barely maintaining my weight at the 600-800 cal/day diet that I lost weight on. I am so carbohydrate sensitive that even as a diabetic, when hospitalized, my doc orders a regular diet so I can choose the foods I can tolerate without my blood sugars skyrocketing. I have been on as needed diabetic medication for a year now, and this week, have been medication free a total of 4 days out of 7; with the actual intake of meds at 1/4 - 1/2 a tablet of the lowest dose. This from a patient who at one time took two kinds of insulin and at very large doses.
Will I ever reach my goal weight? I don't kn ow. Am I going to keep trying? You betcha I am!!! I have never given up.
I joined the local gym where I do at least an hour of in the gym exercise 3x a week, and take balance ball classes (did 436 ab crunches today) where we do mat and weight training along with exercises on the ball. It's a great workout!
