Slowly... but surely. Based on my past experiences with getting beneath my usual plateau of 150, I think that these last few pounds will take a while. I'll settle for a solid pound a week. It's nice to add fruit back into my diet.

A pound a week might seems slow (I know it does to me!), but it is sustainable and probably means weight that you'll keep off. My personal trainer was astounded that I was losing a pound a week --she said that the usual rate people in physical training expect their clients to lose w/diet and exercise is about a pound or two a month. Congrats on losing the ten pounds you initially set out to do! I'm sure you can get these last five.

say. . . . I thought it was 160-150 that constituted the pesky 10, and the next five are "something extra to shoot for". Well, then-- who hoo!!!!!!!! Congrats on meeting your major goal!! Also, settling for a pound a week is not really "settling". A real pound of loss per week is fast. Finally--- it is misleading to think of loss rates in terms of pounds per week for several reasons. (1) we are losing a proportion of the total, and as the total diminishes, a constant proportional loss implies a diminishing pound rate as our weight drops (2) as we lose fat the proportion of our weight that is available to lose diminishes (3) It might be even more productive to think in terms of rates of pounds / remaining pounds to lose to reach goal. If we calculated that way-- you would be jazzed because this would be one of your biggest advances relative to remaining pounds. ok-- done geeking out.
