Come along on my journey of losing 11kg.

I am planning sustainable fat loss - I will be in a deficit of 300- 500g which still allows me to eat quite a bit of food.

I am using the slow approach to ensure no hunger or cravings as I have a massive sweet tooth. my favourite part of the day used to be stopping at the Engen on my way to work and buying over R700 sweets that I would eat at work over the next couple of days whenever my day was bad, whenever something didn't go my way, whenever I felt like a failure or felt guilty sweets were my friend and instantly boosted my mood.

I was diagnosed with cancer December 2022 and have had 5 operations since of course antibiotics, cortisone, 28 weeks of bed rest in total, migraines, food intolerance, gut issues all contributed to my 'fine form- but it's 2024 and soon I'm gonna run out of excuses and my operations will br 5yrs ago and I'm still looking and feeling bad....

I've decided to cut any excuses I might have, I am still in remission but that's no excuse... I got the all clear from my doctor apart from my mind there's nothing holding me back.

I'll be following a IIFYM (if it fits your macros approach) in other words freedom of eating as long as I stick to my calories once I've lost 5kgs ill tighten the screws and follow a plan. For now my focus is om exercising 4-5 times a week, slowly increasing steps. I've started paced walking and jogging 2 times a week.

I won't be weighing in daily as this will mess with my mind, right now my body is inflamed and retaining water so the scale won't be going down.

I already feel so much better and have peace in my decision to commit to this once again.

Like the old adage says abs are made in the kitchen...it's 90% nutrition and 10% exercise. don't get caught up in the small stuff... keep your head down and put in the work...the results will follow
