I had a bad day today. But at least I didn't break. I really learned the importance of having some readily available Induction-friendly snacks on me. But how do you carry a snack when all you can eat is meat and a limited about of veggies? Of course, a big part of my problem was that I didn't eat when I could and then later was starving. Part of my problem is a lot of Induction-friendly foods don't appeal to me in the morning-- I just want waffles or a bowl of cereal and also I actually haven't eaten breakfast in years. I got up at about 11 and had to meet my fiance in Berkeley at 3. I took a while getting ready and then had to make some phone calls and stop in a shop before meeting him. Then we just had to run non-stop once I met him, we were on a schedule, and I ended up not eating until much later. I munched a lot of fiber supplements and drank a ton of water. We finally shared a piece of pizza from Fat Slice at about 5:30-- I ate the pepperoni and cheese, he ate the rest. I later got some olives at a shop and broke down on the long drive home and had a McDonald's cheeseburger sans bun and condiments (I want to avoid fast-food-- it's not very satisfying and the only morning this week that I didn't lose weight was after having a double-double protein style from In-N-Out the night before). I splurged and bought some T-bones at the market tonight because I was trying to think of some kind of meat to tempt my appetite. Also some nice asparagus. They were quite tasty but my stomach isn't happy with me now. I would kill for a piece of fruit. It's funny how I never really appreciated fruit-- I would buy it, but often forgot to eat it. In theory I liked it, but other sweets were just more tempting and easier to eat. Now I would love some cherries, or an apple. Or a nectarine. I think I may go off of Induction sooner than I thought-- maybe just the minimum two weeks. I think it might keep me from going off the program completely. Even then I won't be able to eat the fruit I want. It helps to know it's just two weeks. I think I might periodically switch back from OWL and Induction as things continue.
Oh well, my fault. I just need to eat when I'm hungry. Then temptation won't be so bad.
