Don't shoot, but there's a new (and saner) version of Atkins low-carb. I hate to see you left-righting it and doing pack drill for seemingly naught. Besides, it's going to get icy. In the meantime, keep smiling and let's us both be thankful we're not in Buffalo.

Thanks for the news about Atkins. Will look into it when I get the chance. I am doing "pack drill" to build up endurance for hiking Hawaiian mountains. I am in Honolulu. Hope the weather is not too dreadful where you are. Great to hear from you. By the way, I walk up 12-15 flights of stairs daily. Sometimes with a 30 lb grocery load. Paul & I got rid of our car in 2009. We are loving not having the albatross aka vehicle that must be maintained.

Wow, fantastic! Pack drill will be a great friend, when you hit those mountains. Pick a non-lava-spewing one, I figure you're tough, but that might be pushing it. I wish you all the luck in the world. Re: the weather here, I just rolled in from a 420k drive and the snow started about 10 minutes after I arrived home. It's only 5-10cm, in the Maritimes that's hardly a brush, but night driving in it is not the fun it used to be. Rational thinking seems to set in after a certain age. Enjoy your climbing.
