Had a great bike ride last night. It was windy and somewhat hilly but I was able to push for the full hour of the ride and still ended up with my highest average speed of the year (15.5). I'd like that to be higher but with all the hills I guess it's not to bad. On a flat ride I image 16 wouldn't be much of a problem. I'm hoping to be able to maintain 17-18 for a full ride average on some rides by the end of the summer.
The running is going well. No problems finishing the workouts. My knees get a little tight afterwards but I wouldn't call it knee pain like it was before. I feel lighter on my feet too when I'm not running. Kind of a nice sensation.

tried any bike to run bricks yet? those are good to practice since the muscles will certainly think you are torturing them at first....

No, I should probably give that a try.

oh most certainly you will want to practice the bike to run transition/bricks. You will hate yourself if you don't. And you will hate it the first few times you do it...but trust me, it DOES get easier and you CAN train your muscles to do it. I can make all the difference in the world for how your run goes.

SV sounds like you are getting some wind back in your sails, glad to hear that you are doing well and getting active again, glad spring finally came for your neck of the woods, I know you had snow for a while.

Yes, it was good to do a ride where I felt so strong. Wind in my sails is a good way to put it. It's still been about 10 degrees below normal temperatures on average here, but that still means it's warming up and occasionally we get a day where the temperatures actually hit their normal high for the day which is like a huge bonus at this point.
