Don't listen to people who say 1 little piece won't hurt. That might be true for them but you know yourself. It's perfectly acceptable and a fine way to diet to not eat sugar if that's what keeps you compliant. There is no need for it. Congrats on the weight loss.

btw, some of those people wouldn't have the self-control to not eat sugar for a day, let alone three weeks, so don't let them shame your progress and accomplishment.

Congratulations on not eating sugar for 3 weeks, that is great! I find that those who say little things like, "one bite" or "it's a special occasion" especially this one, "just this one time!" Usually are the ones who tend to want to see you fail. Good for you for being strong. 💪 Wishing you continued progress!

That’s awesome!! Sugar is an addiction for me. Once I start… I can’t stop. But once I’m off, it’s a breeze to stay off. I prefer monk fruit sweetener over Splenda. I think it has more of a sugar taste that the artificial taste of Splenda. That’s my preference. I often substitute real sugar in recipes for Monkfruit and my family can’t tell the difference. Whether it be a cobbler, cake, bread… it’s so good and 0 calories!

SWERVE is also great— made with erythritol, a sugar alcohol. I sub out half the sugar when I bake. No one can ever tell the difference.

I've also used Swerve and monk fruit with good results. I also like stevia.

Compression stockings can help feet pain by keeping them from swelling. Also reducing inflammatory foods such as sodium, refined carbs like potatoes, white rice, and processed grains, and animal products can cause inflammation as well. I'm not saying cut them all out, but you may want to check your intake of them, and cut back. Best Anti-inflammatory foods are non-starchy vegetables and fruit like citrus, berries, beans, and nuts. You can replace pasta with lugeme pastas, and Ezekial bread doesn't contain sugar. Anti-inflammatory supplements also do wonders, such as tumeric, I take 1500mg/ day, flax seed oil, and a Vitamin B complex. It all helped me eliminate knee pain, dry eyes, and rosasia.

We all have to figure out what works for us long term. Don't let anyone influence you to do something you cannot maintain. Good luck!

I can't do low carb diets because I can't stick to them and low fat is the way to go with my fat. Have you eliminated all sugars, including fruit or are you eliminating added sugar? I'm trying to reduce the sugar I put in my coffee.

@Fritzy, I’ve found that I don’t mind not having sugar in my coffee if I give it a pinch of cocoa powder and cinnamon (and milk:I like my coffee tan)
