I just realized that I don't really use FS as a food logger. I use it as a food vetter. I plan my day with it and keep shuffling until I get it the way I want it. Logging wouldn't be enough for me. I'd easily be able to log 1000 calories over if it were after the fact.

I do that a lot too NM. Its good strategy. Some days I have all my food for the day planned before 7am.

That's exactly how I use FS as well. Like you, if I logged after the fact I would have used all of my daily calorie allowance by 2pm lol.

Hey Northernmusician... That is what I do too, and it is easier to keep to the amount of calories you are to consume. :-)

I am going to go out on a limb and say that all of you whop have commented so far have been sucessful in moving towards or reaching your weight loss/gain goals? I think good planning is way underated when talking diets.

Thinking ahead, planning what I'll eat, logging it as I go, and evaluating calories left for the day has been what's making this successful for me to this point, and why I've stuck with it, as short at time as that may be. Logging my activity is also helpful to get an idea of the calories I'm expending. This is a new and healthy lifestyle for me, one that I feel I can continue to do long term.

Okay... odd one here. I eat then document. But over the past 2.5 years, I've learned what I can and can't eat then will check to see how I'm doing and if I have room for yogurt or cottage cheese for dessert. It's worked for me. 80lbs. down.
