going into maintenance calories for a while to have a bit of a diet break. I do expect a rise in scale weight as a result of more food and water retention but it should settle in about a week. a bit nervous to eat more but I do feel I need a small break, mentally and for my body.

Just add some stiff walking, like an hour in the morning. It will do wonders to keep the scale on good behavior.

Good idea! Being in a calorie deficit for too long is not good for you. If you're at your goal weight then it's a good idea to switch to maintenance calories. And if you're doing resistance training, it will be good for building more muscle. You won't gain fat unless you go into surplus!

Thanks guys for the advice 😊. I am doing resistance training and am definitely looking forward to gaining a bit more muscle. I am very happy with how far I have come, I just need to trust the process.

Try to increase your calories slowly, like 500 calories per week, to find your maintenance calories. I've been at maintain for 2 months now and no weight gain. When I eating plenty of carbs I may weight more the next day but the scale always drops down in a day or two.
