Been having elevated BP lately (likely due to age and being 50 lbs overweight…), and for all the years I’ve been learning about nutrition and diets my doc told me something I had not heard before; She told me that the first 30 minutes of working out are purely burning the sugars that are in your circulatory system, and you won’t really start burning additional fats/calories until AFTER you’ve been doing even light to moderate exercise for 30 min. So I changed up my cardio this week, doing moderate consistent pacing for 30 min, and then switching to my HIIT pattern for the next 30 minutes. Gonna keep experimenting with this and see how it goes. Today’s fasted workout burned 710 calories.
