I do so well until the night eating starts, I can consume up to 500 cal some nights
I'm such a snack eater, if I could control this problem I wouldn't have a weight problem.
Does anyone have some tips please?

I swear late night eating (and drinking) are exactly why I'm fat! I wouldn't eat all day, finally consume 800 calories in food, 800 in beer but all between the hours of 8:00pm-midnight. Technically I was in a caloric deficiency at 1600 calories but eating a plate of nachos with 3 beers then going straight to bed is apparently "bad" ;) It is really hard to break the mindless munchies! Really hard. Start by putting your snack in a small bowl-closing the bag and putting it away-don't start eating it until you sit down. Often I use my own laziness against me in that I don't want to get back up and get the bag out again. Also now, I don't skip meals-especially dinner, I don't eat after 7:00, I drink only water or diet tonic w/ lime (little to no sugars/fake sugars to trigger a sweet tooth), little to no alcohol which decreases my will power. Good luck!!

Late night eating is the downfall for many diets. I have to limit when I eat in the evening. Definitely not the last 2 hours before bed. Makes a huge difference.

Try drinking something cold followed by a hot drink....water then tea. Brush your teeth. Play a game of tetris or bubble pop. Do you knit or crochet? Are you watching TV when you are snacking? Change your night time routine. Good luck. Some days I have the same problem....but I find when I snack at night I don't sleep well and I usually have indigestion, so I TRY to be strong.

for me it is not the night snacking as the mood of the day. So popcorn helps, and drinking hot herbs. I have a huge collection because i get bored easily. So try cinnamon, ginger, lemon, lavender, saffron, mint and other herbal tea specially now in winter and the cold weather they are easy to consume. You can add a bit of milk or even a tsp of sugar for 15 calories still better than 500 calories. If your mood need a strong push or if you are hungry maybe popcorn 1/2 C for 300 calories can help. Good luck Monica48.

My hubby who is allergic to wheat found this popcorn at Costco's called Angie's Boom Chick A Pop. You can have 4 cups which is only 120 calories. When I still feel hungry in the eve I now have that and it really fills you up!

I snack on fruits and vegetables - only thing that helps me. I love to snack at night, so I keep alot of them around.

try kale chips, make them yourself, so easy. You can also make other veggie baked chips and season yourself. No chemicals involved and you control the salt or seasonings .
