Week 3 of the Mini-Challenge-my downfalls are not lack of planning, it is acting on the plan in place! I am working to not thinking about food so often, to not have to think about everything that I put into my mouth. I want low carb to become second nature. Water has always been my first choice in a drink and now I am working to make sure that I am putting quality food in my mouth. My version of Low Carb is more like paleo just without the starchy stuff.
I am proud of myself for not allowing the weekend to run away with me. In the past, I took it as a free for all from Friday evening, because hey, I have worked all week and I deserve this thru Saturday because, well, we are out and about and Saturdays are for family and relaxing and Sunday, heck, why eat right on Sunday, Mondays are for starting over, right?
So, in checking my paper journals and re-reviewing what we have completed in this challenge, I am learning to be honest with myself in what I really deserve. Do I deserve to relax and not have to do all the cooking?, Yes, however, I needed to get a better grip on how not to lose out on all my hard work through out the week. This week, I planned one meal and within that one meal, it was not a free for all, yes, I indulged in one serving (a klondike bar) of ice cream and two pieces of boneless fried chicken. However, I did NOT eat the mashed potatoes, mac n cheese or biscuits and I did NOT allow anyone to bully me into it.
I DO have power! It is nice to finally realize that.
