9st 4.8 🙁 Does anyone know if having a cold can make you put on weight? I haven’t really eaten any different, apart from some lemsips. Depressed!

my partner had to take medication for a week bc he was unwell. Didn't drink enough either. He didn't lose a pound despite hardly eating anything.
now that he is fit again, eating right and drinks 2 litre of water per day, his weight is going down again. Might just have been too much for his body and it chose to focus on getting back to normal 🤷♀️

Just keep yourself well hydrated. Says the guy who doesn’t drink enough water himself! I got sick of getting up all night for a pee. Trying to make the effort though. It seems to be popular advice. Get well soon.

Generally speaking the saying goes starve a fever but feed a cold. Personally, I get my annual cold each year and I just keep myself hydrated with hot drinks as this helps you body temperature and eat my favourite comfort foods. Getting well is far more important than any dirt. As soon as he's well he can carry on from where he left off.
Hope gets well soon.

Ah thanks guys! I woke up this morning to my hubby stating ‘my god you look terrible!’ Lol just what you want to hear. It’s the worst cold I’ve had in a long time. I’m drinking lemsips and hot vimto, hopefully it will pass soon.

Your metabolism slows down when you're ill, so that could be all it is. Drink plenty of fluids, rest as much as you can, and maybe reduce your calorie intake a bit to reflect the change in your activity. And if all else fails, my granny always said that chicken noodle soup cures everything.
