After a few days of staying on the same weight, its gone up this morning. Yesterday I had an evening out with friends on a 'bat watching' river boat tour. No food, drinks or snacks on the boat, but I didn't get my usual hour or so evening walk in.
Today I am visiting a friend. It will be nice to see them but they are insisting on getting treats in from the local baker's shop. I've suggested a couple of times that a cup of tea or coffee will be fine, and then a stronger 'please don't' and explained why. But they insist that there will be cake, etc (which I really do not want put in front of me). Why do people simply refuse to listen?
Tomorrow I am visiting elderly relative in a nursing home. I find these visits really hard going. A couple of hours drive to their city, pick up their elderly husband who is getting harder and harder to communicate with as he's deaf and saves money by refusing to put his hearing aid batteries in, drive us both another hour to the nursing home across the city with horrible traffic. Visit nursing home, try not to become distressed by relative with dementia who is angry with us and wants to come home. Grit teeth, get through day, drive back across city in grim silence and finally back home really quite late exhasted.
I am not a cheery soul this morning.
