Just completed a 60 hr fast. To be honest the first 24hrs were the most difficult. Pairing fasting with keto is the key. Over the 60 my body used my fat stores as a source of fuel. I didn’t really feel hungry as I thought I would. But it was the fact I wasn’t eating when I usually eat. I found it difficult to fill the time around lunch and supper. I didn’t realize how much time is devoted to eating. Thinking about eating. Planning what to eat. And cleaning after you eat. On the fast I had more time than I knew what to do with.
I also found my energy level increased during the fast. I didn’t find any lulls that I usually experience during the day. I set out to do a 24 hr fast then decided to do 48 and felt I could do a 60 and I was right. I probably could have went a little longer but I didn’t want to push myself.
Now to ease back into eating and consume the appropriate foods to restock my nutritional supplies.
I know this number will increase this week as I eat and rehydrate. But it’s nice to see this number. I hope to see it again very soon.
