I tried the South Beach Diet back in 2007. It's a great plan, I just didn't stick to it long enough. My nutritionist suggested (strongly) that I go on the Dukan Diet. I am in the attack phase now. DAY ONE!
Okay, so I did not read the book. I have very little idea what I can eat or cannot. I only know that it has be to zero carbs, zero grains, meats of all sorts as long as they are lean, and I think I can have cheese.
I'll read more and figure out more things. I did have a sugar free protein shake today. I think I am supposed to eat a oat pancake or something. Isn't it fun to start something new?
Okay, day 1 ... I survived. Although I did not enjoy eating a MEAT ONLY dish for dinner. I need to incorporate yogurt or something. All meat just isn't all that appetizing.

My first week through the program. Hurray! I've stayed true to the program even though I've a little bit of an up/down graph. I figure my body is adjusting to the new diet.
I have been monitoring my blood sugar and blood pressure on a daily basis since I started this program. I have diabetes type 2 and I need to control my blood sugar.
In one week my blood pressure has reduced from 151/92 to 129/88. My glucose has reduced from 277 to 151 in one week. My weight loss has been 10 lbs.
My triglycerides are off the charts, but it will be a few weeks before I can check progress on those. I do have a baseline number of 1305. These should be <150. It will take a while for those to normalize.
So it looks like I'm off to a great start.

I wish I undestood the metabolism process better. I'm following the diet very well, but my weight goes down, then up, then down. I know I'll continue to lose weight. It just disheartening to see the numbers go up when expect them to go down. ;-)

I love these fast starts. I'm sticking with the plan 100%. I'm losing at a fast rate and probably will continue to lose at a fast rate during phase 1. This is great because I may be able to lose +/- 30 lbs during phase 1.
