Tomorrow is my birthday. My goal when I started was to lose 50 pounds when I started. I'm beyond elated that I hit my goal this morning. Especially considering my weight loss stalled for over a month since May 20. But, this week, I completed two 36-hour fasts. After cake and ice cream tonight and eating clean tomorrow, I'm going to complete a 72-hour fast.

Starting to make some real progress now!
I'm just under halfway to my goal of 95 lbs.
I had a couple weeks where I let "cheat days", or what I call "exceptions", get the better of me and stopped losing weight. I re-evaluated and got back on the wagon, made zero exceptions for the last two weeks and lost 5 lbs.
This week also marked two major milestones. First, I was able to end the last remaining medication I was taking - a daily steroid inhaler. Next, I comfortably fit back into a 1XL t-shirt and shorts. I'm swimming in my old 3XL t-shirts now!

Losing 0.6 kg a Week

Today, I finally earned my 40-pound badge from Fitbit. It has taken me 16 weeks to lose 40 pounds and almost a month to lose the last five.
According to my weight history, the last time I weighed less than 280 pounds, I was 32 years old. That was seven years ago. I've weighed more than 300 pounds for the last four years and I have been at least 60 pounds overweight since I began using Fat Secret in March 2009. I wasted my 30s being fat and unhealthy.
Now I'm trying to make up for lost time and trying to turn back, or at least slow down, the clock on my body. I'm eating better and exercising more. I'm not wasting another second of my life on ultra-processed foods. I'm determined to get into the best shape ever before my 41st birthday - a little over a year from today.

This community is incredibly supportive. If you're struggling to lose weight and get healthy, you're not alone. My struggle has caused me to re-evaluate almost every aspect of my life, especially my career. More on that another time.
