No progress. I have been up and down like crazy. I have had a salt craving as of late. Possibly because I increased my water like crazy.However, in the ultimate catch-22 I think I am retaining water now. Just because I gain 3 pounds in a day and lose 5 and gain 2 lose 3, etc. Oddly enough, working out is exacerbating the issue. I have been confused lately. Coming up on a big birthday and I would like to be down at least 100 from when I started this journey, seems like I am Atreyu right now stuck in the swamp and I need to shake loose.

Slow going lately, I am getting confused with my in and out calorie expenditures. I have kicked around the idea of talking to a nutritionist.

I am hitting a plateau! I have been up and down daily! I know most of it is water weight, the heat in AZ depending upon how much you are outside severely affects your hydration. I find that I have been craving salt as well. These two combined make for odd weigh ins. I have been honing my dietary regiment and I think I need to ease off a bit. I eat many salads and that has been great because I am full and satiated; however, I can eat 3 salads with trimmings and I am under 450 calories total. Yesterday I forced myself to have a snack that I would have normally never taken to get my calories up. I still ended under 1000. This number is against my own advice for myself and others. Today I weighed in higher, and I had cardio yesterday. I think I am too much in my own head (which is a bad thing). I am not at a size yet where this should be so tough for me. I think I need to be around 1200 a day but I need to recalculate my BMR because I should be losing even if I am retaining water. Anybody run into this sort of thing?

I started walking a crazy amount of steps. last week I averaged 13k a day. Most days my caloric burn closely equaled my intake for the day so I thought I was going to drop like a rock. First day I was right and my weight dropped by a good amount. The heat in AZ is a tricky mistress. I was easily hitting my water goal for the day but not for the added heat of the day. I started retaining water because my body craved salt and I obliged lol. Weight loss seeming like a game of Jenga, every move hinges upon another three moves. It is interesting for me to say the least. I have quieted down the steps (my shins were killing!) and back into a hydrated state and back on my routine. This heat though!! it certainly is a game changer!

I have been changing up my calories lately and I think it has made my body take notice. I had some foods (sugars) that I felt were always on the no no list but cut a candy bar in half to satisfy a gnawing craving. I was smart the rest of the day and got some cardio in and I actually lost weight on my weigh in. I think it is good to shock the routine from time to time. Now I did this in the a.m. to give plenty of opportunity to even out but it was soooo good. I recommend it for sure!
