Today was pretty good! I'm sticking to the diet and keeping low calorie and low carb. What I really like is that I'm not starving myself..I'm just making the correct choices in what I eat. I'm anxious to weigh myself, but I'm only going to do it twice a week. That's the thing about the scale, it can either bum you out or get you very motivated. I'm pretty motivated right now, but I know if I step on the scale and I've gained anything, I will feel dreadful!
My weakness here is coffee, which I add a lot of Equal to. I have to cut that out...and I will. I'll try to do it gradually.

So, I started off this diet on February 1st. I started with Atkins because my mom has lost over 100 lbs on it and has kept it off. I thought this would be a great way to get the weight off fast and then I could switch to a healthy diet that I could maintain the rest of my life. Well, the first week I lost 6 lbs. The next week I gained a lb. and the week after that lost.5 lb. I was EXTREMELY frustrated by that. But...I kept reminding myself that I never did ANY exercise before and now I was walking 1.5 miles/day and using a light calisthenic video for 20 minutes. I know I have been gaining muscle as well as losing fat. I lost 2 1/2 inches in my waistline that first month. Still...I wasn't seeing results on the scale!! I looked into the diet. I realized that I was consuming too many carbs and I wasn't working the Atkins diet 100% correctly. So, for the next week I fine tuned that. When I got on the scale last Friday, I had lost .6 of a lb. I was FED UP!!! After a few hours of sobbing, I decided that I couldn't give up, but once again, I was going to have to tweak the diet. I had my gall bladder taken out a year ago and was wondering if that was part of the reason that I wasn't losing weight. So, I figured that I would try a diet that was very low in fat, calories, AND carbohydrates!! I started this change on Saturday, March 6th. For S&G's, I stepped on the scale this morning (usually only do it once a week) and found that I had lost 6 LBS!!!! FINALLY!! So, I have been reading up on Very Low Calorie Diets, and I know that I can't do it forever. I am going to give it about 4 months and I'll see where I'm at from there. I am just relieved that I CAN lose the weight and now I'm even more motivated to do it!!
