So yesterday I did some cardio and today I did some strength training.

I am not going to the physical therapist this week as my schedule does not permit it, but I am still doing the exercises that they've prescribed as well as my own blend.

Today was an upper body day! My main problem is the lack of symmetry in strength of my left arm versus my right arm. I am trying to create balance between the two sides, so I do three sets with both arms of various exercises to exhaustion for the left arm. Then I do an additional two sets with a lower weight to push the left side a bit further. The right side of my body thinks it is all a joke while the left side is crying for mercy.

A co-worker/friend that I met nearly a year ago made some kind comments to me today regarding my progress. He occasionally comes to my office to provide coverage when we are down a man. He hadn't said anything initially because he wasn't sure if I would take it positively or negatively, but later the discussion came up and he said he was amazed at the difference. He mentioned that the difference he saw just from a month ago was drastic, let alone from when we met! That gave me a huge happiness boost to know that others have taken notice of my efforts. I am pretty self-conscious, and it makes me feel better when people see my efforts to improve myself.

My supervisor even gave me a pat on the back and encouragement today. He is a bit muscle guy, but he has some extra pounds to contend with. He has been asking me a lot about my diet and how I've managed to lose so much weight. I told him "just give up all of your favorite foods and you'll do fine". Kidding aside, he has started intermittently fasting after I've explained what I've learned about the process. I feel it helps me, but the schedule is making it a little more difficult to manage this week. Not to worry as I am still seeing results.

It may be pathetic to say this, but a few weeks ago I couldn't even do two push ups with proper form. Now I'm up to 3 sets of 13. Part of it is probably the lower weight, but there definitely is some improvement in strength; even with such a deficit. I just need to keep at it and it'll get better and better.

So I decided to go out and walk on a whim. I wanted to try running again, but I could feel the severity of the pain increasing just with the brisk walking. I decided not to tempt fate, and to at least get something out of it.

Got a nice little work out with that, but I can tell that some of my body is just not in a good place right now. It seems like some of my goals may be a bit unrealistic, and that I need to pace myself before I hurt myself seriously.

The sad thing is that I think even the physical therapy is pushing me too hard in some areas. It has been four full days since I've worked this arm out other than my normal work schedule, and the shoulder is still killing me.

I'm going to see if I can get myself into the 220s next weigh in, so I've lowered my maximum intake a bit and will incorporate some cardio to burn off some extra calories. The increased deficit caused by the reduced intake and increased exercise is barely a pound at most, but it may be what tips the scale in my favor next weigh in.

This number is a little deceiving as a little over a pound of that is the new scale. I also was able to actually void this time around, unlike during my last weigh in. (I've had some issues with that as of late due to my ulcer.)

I've taken measurements but they're all either the same or slightly higher. I made extra sure I wasn't tightening the measurer too much, as well as making sure I measured at the largest part of the area. I'll input them when I get home, but it is generally the same or an inch larger.

Still, I definitely lost some weight. I am guessing it is probably more like 2 pounds once you figure out the other factors. Still! That is progress! And I am happy with that.

I'm on my way out the door to head down to the Dallas area to get an RMR test done. Long drive, but I'm excited!
