Day 14: Lift Day (Rotation 4, Day 2)

Based on how I feel I believe I need more time before I should continue with the lifting. I had some less than healthy food choices over the last couple of day, but it is not a huge derailment. I'll tinker with my intake to compensate for the change.

The alternating 2:2 high carb / low carb rotation makes sense in theory, but the practice is a little hard when certain days line up. It is hard to get the right intake on heavier work days, and it is hard to keep the calories more limited on my off days.

I will continue with this rotation for the intended term, but I may need to adjust the schedule. I do not know if this is true, but I have read that it may be better to have longer periods of increased or decreased intake to optimize for gains or losses, but I wonder if I might do a 1:1 type schedule.

My thoughts are Tuesday and Thursday for the increased intake and exercise days. Either Sunday or Saturday could be used depending on the work schedule, so it would work out well I think.

I'm being impatient as I really want to lose all of this weight NOW, but I also want to become stronger and healthier beyond simply being "skinny". It is hard to be patient and to wait for results. Instant gratification is just so... instantly gratifying! Guess I'll just have to wait D:.

Day 13: Lift Day (Rotation 4, Day 1)

I could do the lifting, but the pain is severe enough that I think I need to let the shoulder rest. I will do some stretches and some mild cardio, but I won't be able to justify lifting with my shoulder as it is.

Two steps forward, one step back. My back, neck, shoulder, and knee are all hurting. The concerning pain is the back and shoulder pain, but there is nothing I can do about it at this point. I've taken two aspirin and two ibuprofen and am not getting any relief. I'll do some more stretches and roll some more on my foam roller to try and help relieve some pain.

On the plus side, hit a new low for this diet even though I ate a little bit of carbs last night. I thought it might throw me off, but it seems that it went okay. I'll see some large increases from the carb intake over the next two days, but then it'll level out.

When I continue my strength training regimen, I'll lower the weights and increase the reps for the left shoulder exercises. I think that it is a combination of over use and muscle strength disparity. I'll get it done.

Now to go eat some chicken stew!

Day 12: Rest Day (Rotation 3, Day 4)

At my newest low for my new diet. I felt the "Keto flu" in full force this morning. I even checked with a ketone strip, and sure enough I'm definitely producing ketones. That's actually faster than expected because I still have a full day of low carb and an intermittent fast before I go back to the higher carb day.

I doubt it'll go much lower. I feel like I might be a bit dehydrated, so I'll want to double up on water today to make sure that's not the case. Tomorrow is a lift day, but my shoulder is telling me to throw in the towel. I might need to push it back a day to get the proper rest, but my legs already feel up to the challenge to another lift day so I may just rotate the two lift days. I'll decide tomorrow for sure. If I have to push it back I'll end up doing another low carb day.
